My Andela ALC 2017 Experience so far

Its been an awesome experience so far, being a part of the Andela learning community for the Android beginners track 2017. I remember just how proud I felt after i ran the ‘hello world’ app on my android device.., I have encountered some challenges along the way but the knowledge I get from that is immeasurable.

I have finally come to the end of the program, and built my final project; the quiz app, its truly awesome to say that I actually built the app, seeing as a month ago, I did not know ‘jack’ about Android development. The quiz app actually has one of the many features which I love so much; the countdown timer, which starts counting down after you have inputted your name and selected the test category you wish to take, It will be nice to say that if you leave the name field empty, you will be notified to input it, awesome!!!

After answering the six questions I provided for this project, you get your score and a dialogue box that displays your grade alongside your congratulatory message. I have added some screenshots for your eyes only!! check it out.. https://goo.gl/zHoHJR

I can now say that I fully understand what Andela meant when they said brilliance is evenly distributed but opportunity isn’t. A month ago, mobile app development seemed so foreign to me, but am glad and thankful to Andela that I can actually make something work in Android, and am not stopping here for sure. I am moving on to greater heights now to be a world class android developer and build something that can be useful and improve the lives of people.
